Hotels vs. Airbnb: Three Reasons Why You Should Ditch Short-Term Rentals

While scrolling through social media, it's hard to miss those travel influencers showing off their latest accommodations in far-off destinations. "Check out this incredible Airbnb in Positano!" or "Just stayed at this amazing VRBO in the Alps!" But let's be real, short-term rentals have their moment, but not everywhere, not all the time.

Ever wonder why influencers rave about certain places? Well, it's not always just because they loved it. Sometimes, they get a free stay in exchange for those glowing reviews. At Red Tail Travel, genuine experiences are what matter most. As the founder, my goal is making sure our clients have the time of their lives when they explore new destinations. Our bottom line isn't about promoting properties; it's about making sure you have the best vacation you’ve ever had.

When it comes to where to stay on your travels, it's a big decision. Hotel or short-term rental? Here are three reasons why you should ditch short-term rentals on your next vacation.

Christmas in July: A Guide to Europe’s Christmas Markets

Some of us love to escape the winter weather and head to the beach for the holidays. But if you're someone who embraces the cold, I've got the perfect holiday adventure for you. Europe's Christmas markets turn cities into enchanting winter wonderlands, filled with twinkling lights, festive decorations, and the irresistible aroma of seasonal treats.

Here's your guide to some of the top Christmas markets in Europe for 2024, complete with dates and descriptions to help you plan a magical holiday experience.

1. Christkindlesmarkt - Nuremberg, Germany

Dates: November 29 - December 24, 2024

Nuremberg’s Christkindlesmarkt is many people’s favorite, and it's easy to see why. It's one of the oldest and most famous Christmas markets in the world! Located in the heart of the city at Hauptmarkt, this charming market features over 180 wooden stalls, all decorated with red-and-white cloth. As you wander through, you'll smell the delicious scents of Nuremberg gingerbread (Lebkuchen), roasted sausages, and mulled wine (Glühwein). Plus, you'll find a delightful array of handmade Christmas ornaments, toys, and unique gifts. Don't miss the opening ceremony—seeing the "Christkind" (Christmas Angel) recite a festive prologue from the balcony of the Church of Our Lady is truly magical.

30th Wedding Anniversary Vacation: France and Italy

“There is no way we would have had such a great trip without the help of Red Tail Travel. The planning was amazing and took so much of the worry and stress out of it for us. We are not experienced travelers in Europe and needed to have our hand held a bit so we felt comfortable. The excursions we did were all FABULOUS and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. The service at all three hotels were top of the line and exactly what we needed.”
